HIGH-DETAIL EARTH CLOUDS NASA Goddard Space Flight Center / Reto Stöckli. Blue Marble visualization enhancements by Robert Simmon. Original Blue Marble historical cloud composite, 2001/2002. Supporting NASA record: https://svs.gsfc.nasa.gov/3402/ The 5120 × 3840 regional cloud mask uses detail reduced from original NASA hemisphere maps. North of 62°N, the existing lower-resolution NASA 8K composite repairs a visible source seam; this repair fades out by 56°N. The main tropical and temperate field retains genuine higher-resolution detail. It is locally encoded in KTX2 UASTC with mipmaps. Cloud altitude, lighting, opacity and drift are artistic approximations; this is not live weather.
